It is a matter of great pride and satisfaction to be associated with Radhacharan Memorial Institute (Happy Home), an institution rooted in a rich legacy and guided by a clear educational vision. The school owes its foundation to the remarkable initiative of Late Smt. Gouri Bagchi, whose dedication to nurturing young minds brought quality English-medium education to the Bolpur–Santiniketan region.

From humble beginnings with only a handful of learners, the institution has steadily grown into a vibrant academic community. This progress reflects the collective commitment of our teachers, staff, guardians, and well-wishers who continue to uphold the ideals on which the school was established. The consistent academic performance of our students and the accomplishments of our alumni across diverse fields stand as testimony to the strength of our educational approach.

At Happy Home, we view education as a continuous journey that blends knowledge with values, creativity with discipline, and tradition with progress. With the planned expansion into the Higher Secondary level, we aim to open wider avenues for our students and further strengthen our academic framework.

As we look ahead, our focus remains on fostering an environment where every student feels encouraged to learn, grow, and contribute meaningfully to society. Warm greetings to all members of the Radhacharan Memorial Institute (Happy Home) family and to everyone visiting our website.

Our institution, founded through the vision and perseverance of Late Smt. Gouri Bagchi, has always stood for sincerity, discipline, and a deep commitment to meaningful education. What began as a small initiative to bring English-medium learning to the Bolpur–Santiniketan community has today grown into a respected centre of learning, supported by the trust and cooperation of guardians and well-wishers.

As Secretary, my role is to ensure that the administrative framework of the school continues to support its academic mission effectively. We strive to maintain a well-organized, transparent, and student-friendly environment so that teaching and learning can flourish without obstacles. The steady growth in student strength, consistent academic results, and the success of our alumni reflect the dedication of our teachers and the strong bond among all stakeholders.

The institution is also moving ahead with plans to broaden its academic scope, including the introduction of the Higher Secondary section, to meet the evolving needs of our students and the community.

I sincerely thank our teachers, non-teaching staff, guardians, and supporters for their constant cooperation and faith in the institution. With collective effort and shared responsibility, we will continue to uphold the values and vision that define Happy Home.

RADHACHARAN MEMORIAL INSTITUTE known as HAPPY HOME- the oldest English Medium School was founded by GOURI BAGCHI and her husband Professor Radhacharan Bagchi of Kala Bhavana, Visva Bharati. After his sad demise, Gouri Bagchi alone started the school with the vision of imparting education in English version to the students of Bolpur-Santiniketan area.

Founder Gouri Bagchi was an Adhyapak of Visva Bharati and after her retirement she established this school and she was the Rector, Principal and Director of the school- very soon she became the beloved and dear “MAMONI”, “DIDIBHAI”, of all the students, Guardians, Teachers, Non-teaching staff and the people of Bolpur-Santiniketan. The HAPPY HOME will remember her forever.

Initially there were very few students studying here but as the days roll on, our school’s enrollment has increased significantly and now stands at nearly four hundred. The students have been securing very good marks in the Board Examination since its inception. Most of them have passed with flying colours. Moreover many ex-students of the school have achieved professional success both at home and abroad. This school has taken the decision to introduce Higher Secondary Stream for the sake of the students and it is in progress.
